Migrating to NZ is a dream come true for me and my family. For me its heaven on earth simply because I was not accustomed to simple luxuries like driving your own car, steaks and roasts for dinner, carpeted homes overlooking scenic views, back home its a lot simpler. It's been home for ten years now and I tell you, unless your heart is ready and determined against all odds, consider carefully. This is not to dampen your spirit nor discourage you, but migrating to any place overseas is always a leap of faith. You are about to let go of your hard earned savings to spend on your dream migration. Any mishap in your plans will result into a pile of debts for we are quick to borrow money thinking an approval of work permit for residency is a sure guarantee of big earnings. That is not always the case. Proper planning and right information are your keys to success.
Filipinos are doing well in the Land of the White Clouds. The kiwis have good impression on our people, hardworking, reliable, honest and friendly. Speaking for myself, its awesome working with NZ professionals. I never experienced any racism. The employers can discern true character and sense pure intentions. I have the privilege of working with good companies in the city and I love it for years till I was knocked down with the illness.
Having said that, let me tell you what I went through before I get this far. My restless soul suddenly decided to follow my aunt and her family to New Zealand way back 2001. Confident because I have money to spend availing of the company's early retirement offer and being a newly wed, hopes are high. Reason being I can live with my aunt's family while testing the waters I will be alright. I passed the rigid screening without any hitch and off we go, without any concrete plans and valid informations at hand. First few months are exciting but reality bites when after nearly exhausting our visa period to stay and the cash is running low, nothing definite is happening. Fast forward three years, we finally get our residency after God has intervened again, Alleluia! was I spared from anguish, discouragement, humiliation and disappointments? I was not. I have paid the price of acting on impulse and being a bad child of God. But one thing is for sure, God disciplines but never ever leave you astray. In between gap, I have witnessed a lot of struggling migrants who was into a worse situation than mine and they have kids to mind. Others are victimized by unscrupulous immigration advisers and consultants who ripped off people with money, some went back home unable to handle the pressure, I feel bad everytime it happens, it is their own risk The immigration laws are tougher now but more considerate protecting the vulnerable migrants from exploitation.
Speaking of right information. May I lead you to www.immigration.govt.nz. This is the NZ immigration website with all the necessary information you will need, if you are contemplating to migrate. In there are the list of Licensed Immigration Advisers and their full details. Do not let go of your hard earnings to someone who is posting as real but a bogus one, check from the website. Don't jump into the wagon unprepared, save yourselves from a big cry. Everything has to be legal and lawful.
I am not an Immigration Adviser but I am willing to help anybody who might be needing information on the subject, no charge. I can ask around, direct you to the proper authorities for inquiries since I live here. If you are capable of applying through the NZ website and have the proper understanding, you can save thousands of money. If you can't be bothered with the nitty gritty of applying, then an immigration consultant is good for you. Post your questions and it would be my pleasure to answer based only on my experience. I will be honest if the matter is too technical but questions like the way of life and working experiences in the country, you are most welcome. I promise to post any immigration updates from NZ papers for your information. This is actually part of our bargain to heavens when we finally got our residency, me and my husband. For the wonderful people who helped us through we are giving back the favor . When you got yours continue the cycle, deal?
I wish you wonderful and marvelous life!
